climbing Mount Kenya for maisha

maisha's building project!

At the end of February 2012 a team of around 10 people will climb Mount Kenya (almost 5000 metres above sea level) to raise money for our building project.

The team will be climbing to Point Lenana which culminates at almost 5000 metres and unlike the other 2 peaks on Mount Kenya, Batian and Nelion, does not require technical climbing.

This does not mean it is an easy task. It will take the team 5 days of trekking at very high altitude and the summit is a particularly steep climb that requires training and stamina. We wish the team every success and are confident that they will not only succeed, but enable the maisha kids to have the new home we believe they deserve.

Below you will find the plans for the new "maisha village".
