Procedure to sponsor a child.

Kenya is o­ne of the poorest countries in Africa.  Due to the post-electoral violence in Kenya at the end of 2007, Kenya is currently more needy than ever and as always in this type of situation, it is the children that suffer first and foremost. With your help - o­nly CHF 40 a month - maisha can sponsor o­ne child and allow him or her to move into the maisha home and begin a better life.

Maisha appreciates your interest in helping a child and can assure you that, as a sponsor, you will be greatly improving the life of a child who otherwise would have nothing. In sponsoring a child, you will be providing him or her with all the basic needs a child may have.

Maisha is trying to incur as little administration costs as possible and therefore in order to maximize the benefit of your donation to the child, we would really appreciate it if you would make your donation quarterly, half-yearly or yearly, rather than o­n a monthly basis.

When you sponsor a child,

• You have the right to choose the child you would like to sponsor from our gallery.
  
• Your child will immediately move into the maisha home, attend the nearby primary school and your money will be used to cover food, clothes, medical bills, school fees etc.
  
• You can write to your child at the maisha address and if you get a chance to go to Kenya, you can visit the maisha home and meet your sponsored child face to face.
• Maisha will regularly provide you with updates concerning the welfare of the child you have chosen to sponsor.
• You can decide whether to make your payments every three months, every six months, or yearly
• With your permission maisha will include you in its gallery of sponsors (please send us your picture)
  
• By sponsoring a child you automatically become a (passive) member of maisha
