Maishas Report  Nov 07 to Jan 08.

It was a great privilege for the President and Vice President of maisha to visit Kenya in November and December 2007. During this visit, they met the Coordinator of Maisha in Kenya and discussed the following:

• Maisha has seven children so far and we used the donations we had been given when we went to Kenya to give the maisha children Christmas presents.

• Maisha learnt that o­ne of the children whose father was in the last stages of the AIDS disease would not release the child. At the moment the child has been taken to the countryside where she is living with her grandmother.

• Maisha's Vice President heard the story of a 20 year old young man whose parents died, leaving him to take care of four of his siblings. Maisha was really touched and decided to help out by taking at least o­ne of the children.

• The Vice President of maisha has some land in Kenya. She has decided to use this land to build a home for the maisha children to live in.This is o­ne of the main projects that maisha is focusing o­n, as we need to provide these children with a place they can call home.

• Maisha is now registered in Switzerland and is considering registration in Kenya as well.


• By the end of 2008 maisha is hoping that the maisha home will be completed.

As the current political status in Kenya is very unstable,  maisha is appealing to all its contributors to donate in order to complete our vision and our plan for 2008.

• There was also a discussion about what the maisha children will do during the school holidays. Maisha decided that the children will be taken to camps, picnics, scouting trips etc., and those with guardians may return to visit them if they so wish.
