In loving memory of Kevin Muhija 2000 – 2008

Maisha was very sad to learn that o­ne of its dear children, Kevin Muhija, died of AIDS earlier this month. Kevin was o­nly 8 years old when he passed away and was the youngest in a family of three children. His mother died of AIDS in January 2006 and his father is currently bedridden with the same disease. The family has no source of income and depends o­n well-wishers for their upkeep. Up until a few weeks before his death, maisha was unaware that Kevin was HIV positive and so we were deeply shocked and saddened to hear the news and hope and pray that we will never have to experience this sort of tragedy again.

Little Kevin was a very sociable boy who loved playing with other children and who’s hobbies were football and singing. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. We are confident that Kevin is now amongst the angels, in a place where there is no more pain or hurt, where hunger and thirst no longer exist and where tears are replaced by joy and peace. Kevin, maisha will never ever forget you.
